KISSIMMEE, Fla., January 11, 2010 – Customers of Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) this morning set a new all-time winter system peak demand record for electricity – the fourth in five days.
The record system peak of 330.8 megawatts (MW) was set at 7:04 a.m. Monday, shattering the old mark of 323.2 MW set Sunday. The temperature at the time of this morning’s peak was 32 degrees. One megawatt powers approximately 750 homes.
KUA reported no outages overnight or this morning.
